Westwood’s number 1 player Miguel Alda is ranked #1 in the State of Texas in 16’s and 18’s in USTA rankings. He is currently the top player in Texas in two different age groups and ranked #33 in the Nation. Miguel plays many USTA tournaments outside of school and we continue to watch his ranking rise. As he has already completed his goal of being ranked #1 in Texas, he will start playing national tournaments only to get his ranking as high as possible. This past summer, Miguel and his sister Rosalia (who was the 2007 Girl’s Singles State Champion) played mixed doubles in the US OPEN qualifier to try to make it to Flushing Meadows. Congrats to Miguel on his continued success in Tennis.
